TOLC costs

For each test, the student must pay CISIA a comprehensive mandatory fee of €30. This fee serves as the registration fee and is non-refundable. The successful payment of the registration fee entitles the student to take the selected TOLC at the chosen venue and date. The information system sends a confirmation of successful payment and registration to the email address provided by the student during registration. To participate in the TOLC, the student must print the receipt of payment and registration, available in the student's personal area on the CISIA portal. On the day of the test, the student must bring the registration receipt for the TOLC, along with the identification document used for TOLC registration. It is not possible to take the test on a different day than the one of registration.

If the student is absent from the test for which they registered and paid the corresponding fee, using the previously paid fee, they can make a new registration for a new date, using the credit from the first registration. The reuse of the already paid fee is only possible within the calendar year of payment. In the personal area of each student, the presence of any unused fees is indicated. Fees not used within the calendar year will not be usable for subsequent years and will not be refunded by CISIA, which will retain them as compensation for the costs incurred in the general organization of the TOLC. If, following further registration for the TOLC using the credit, the student is absent again, they will lose the right to use the fee paid.

Test day (only for traditional TOLC conducted in person)

Students registered for a TOLC session must arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam at the chosen venue and classroom selected during registration on the CISIA website, as indicated in the receipt of payment and registration, which must be printed and presented by each student. Only this document entitles access to the classroom, along with the identification document provided during TOLC registration.

Once identified, the student takes the test by entering the User and Password provided by the classroom commission after successful identification. These credentials, different from those used by the student to access their personal area on the CISIA portal, must be entered into the system to start the test and can only be used once. The use of the password is the element that CISIA uses to confirm participation in the test.

The student must adhere to the classroom behavior rules (provided together with the access password), the rules outlined in this regulation, and the general conditions accepted during TOLC registration. Otherwise, the student will be removed from the TOLC test venue and will not be entitled to any refund. They may participate in a subsequent TOLC session by paying the registration fee again.

The computer system generates a personalized TOLC for each participant. Each test has a unique identifying code printed on the sheet containing the password, which is handed to each student upon identification and access to the computer classroom.

The test is conducted with predetermined modalities and timeframes.

At the end of the test, the student immediately has the opportunity to view the summary data of the test taken, including the score for each section, the total score expressed in absolute terms, and the score for the English test. The on-screen display of results confirms the successful saving of data and the answers chosen by the student.

During the TOLC test, the student cannot use any calculation, educational, or support tools or fraudulently obtain information and/or images from within the computerized test. For this reason, the classroom commissions will confiscate any material available to the student upon entering the classroom (recording devices, calculators, cell phones, cameras, or other items). However, the student can use the sheet certified by the commission provided upon entering the classroom and should only bring a pen for note-taking.

The student is responsible for the proper completion of the test and is liable for any damages or fraudulent actions towards the means provided by the participating university for the test. In case of technical problems during the test, the student must immediately inform the classroom commission, which will implement the rules and procedures contained in the TOLC regulations of the venues.

Within their personal area on the CISIA portal, the student can print the corresponding certificate of participation in the TOLC containing the data related to the achieved result. This certificate contains, in addition to the aforementioned data, also the venue and the date of the test.
