Disabled students and those with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)

Studente disabile

The University of Sassari provides assistance and services to students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD) at the University.

In recent years, the University has paid great attention to students with documented or suspected learning disorders, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, collectively referred to as Specific Learning Disorders (abbreviated as SLD). Even as adults, individuals may struggle with reading, understanding the content of a page just read, or easily forgetting it. Sometimes, these aspects may indicate the presence of one or more unrecognized SLDs. Besides negatively impacting academic performance, SLDs can have negative implications for self-esteem and, consequently, emotional and social functioning.

In the menu on the right side of the page, you will find all the useful information if you have - or suspect you have - one of these disorders. In the same menu, you can also find contacts with the University and Departmental coordinators, texts of the relevant laws on disabilities and specific learning disorders, etc.

Students who encounter difficulties uploading the DSA certification in PDF format to the reserved area of the self-student platform can contact Dr. Amalia Grazia Moro at the Student Services Center in Piazza Università - Palazzo Zirulia (ground floor). Tel. 079-229865 - email: agmoro@uniss.it

Request for financial assistance for study support

The medical documentation attesting to the pathology and degree of disability should not be attached to the request for the contribution, as it is already uploaded by the student in their reserved area (Self Studenti Uniss).

Requests for financial assistance must be submitted no later than January 15th of each year.

Newly enrolled disabled students who request financial assistance by October 15th of each year may receive an advance, based on the percentage of disability and the budget availability, by November 30th of each year. However, students still have the option to submit the request for contribution by January 15th of each year.

The form containing the request for financial assistance for study support must be sent to the institutional PEC address protocollo@pec.uniss.it or to the ordinary email address ufficioprotocollo@uniss.it.
