Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer - DMA

The TA Instruments Q800 is a Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer suitable for the study of viscoelastic properties of polymeric materials.

Accessories include a "cooler" and a humidity control system which allow for temperature- and humidity-controlled analysis, respectively. The machine is also equipped with various "grasps" that can be used for analysis of materials having different shapes.

Analysis of mechanical properties of polymeric materials, composite materials, or nanocomposites.

Through dynamic mechanical analysis, glass transition temperature, polymer composition, and parameters such as Young's complex modulus, conservation and loss moduli, as well as damping factor (tan δ) and viscous creep can be determined.

The instrumentation is capable of analyzing solid samples having film and fiber shapes as well.
