"Quadrilateral" urban campus - booth area (open spaces)

Science exhibits and interactive workshops for secondary schools (morning) and general public (afternoon) - each booth/classroom was animated by at least 2 science referees and some junior animators (high school or college students). More than 1300 secondary and high school students from Sassari, Porto Torres and Tempio Pausania were involved in the morning. An additional 700 citizen attendees were registered in the afternoon.

1 - Magic? No thanks: we do CHEMISTRY!      

Small laboratory experiences helped explain how in the transformations of matter there is nothing magical and everything can be traced back to atoms and molecules combining with each other.

2 - Biotechnology: Engineering Present and Past

The activity showed the study of next-generation biotechnological processes aimed at the production of environmentally sustainable materials and beyond.

3 - Batteries are in the fruit    

The experience was aimed at a popular explanation of the basic principles governing the operation of modern electrochemical accumulators, devices that have now become ubiquitous and key technologies for the energy transition.

4 - Soil a resource to be saved              

The percentage of degraded soils in the world is steadily increasing. Display of technologies to recover soil health through demonstrations with small experiments.

5 - Digital and robotic technologies for sustainable agriculture.        

Exhibition and demonstration of the most recent and innovative studies and experiments in agriculture, with the aim of raising awareness of more sustainable lifestyles, bringing young people closer to science and the use of new technologies.

6 - Creative Generation (in AULA GAZEBO)

The Mario Sironi Academy of Fine Arts presented three workshops marked by art, new technologies and Artificial Intelligence.

7 - A dive into Artificial Intelligence: from pixels to emotion recognition.      

Interactive workshop, from image representation in computers to automatic face and expression recognition, digital identity theft and deep-fakes.

12 - A leap in time: excavations and research in protohistoric Sardinia.

The exhibit illustrated two research projects on Nuragic Sardinia, from the investigations conducted (excavations, prospecting, analysis, documentation) to the results, with exhibits, posters, and interactive workshops.

A workshop that falls under assisted education with animals, the methodological approach was practical and interactive-experiential.

In order to define the nutritional status of one's pet, the ODV Nutrition Desk service invited citizens to a free consultation in which their pet (dog or cat) underwent an assessment of its fattening status.

DNA the sequel (for a high school class, by reservation)

Interactive game to learn how to sequence DNA.
Thanks to the many successful TV series, a little bit of everyone now knows that from DNA traces it is possible to trace the perpetrator of a crime, but how does this scientific process take place? Extracting DNA from saliva can be a fascinating game. The hunt for the culprit will unfold through saliva sample extraction and DNA sequencing using PCR. Participants will be able to watch the formation of their DNA strand and find the culprit like a TV series.
