SHARPER - European Researchers' Night 2023

SHARPER 2023

The University of Sassari, in collaboration with the Office of Third Mission and Territory, is once again a partner in the SHARPER project (SHAring Researches' Passion for Enhanced Roadmaps) for the year 2023. The project involves 14 Italian cities and aims to disseminate scientific culture in urban and regional areas through various and original forms of interaction with the community in informal settings: exhibits, interactive and playful laboratories, informative talks, workshops, debates, scientific coffees/aperitifs, and other initiatives actively engaging citizens.

This year, the main event took place on Friday, September 29, 2023, with numerous pre-events and engagement activities in the days and weeks leading up to it. Detailed information on all the initiatives carried out can be accessed below and to the right.

The 2023 edition was dedicated specifically to high school students, with over 1,300 students and their teachers visiting stands, laboratories, and workshops by appointment set up in the Didactic Center of the Quadrilateral in Sassari on the morning of September 29.

In total, 57 different activities were organized, involving around 150 researchers and a live audience of over 4,000 people, including 2,600 students from local schools. The SHARPER project aligns with the five 2050 objectives of Horizon Europe: fighting cancer; adapting to climate change; sustainable and smart cities; health of seas and waters; and soil health and nutrition. The European Researchers' Night also featured initiatives, exhibits, and interactive laboratories in various other thematic areas, from biology, chemistry, and physics to arts, archaeology, and artificial intelligence.

SHARPER is a project of the European Researchers' Night funded by the European Commission through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. GA 101061553
