The evening will be dedicated to the total eclipse of the Moon. 
The animators of the SAT (Astronomical Turritana company) will be available to the public who will make the moon that will already rise eclipsed with telescopes and will be visible until the end of the phenomenon.

The lunar eclipse occurs when the full moon, totally illuminated by the sun, crosses the shadow cone generated by the earth. The lunar disc is obscured but still remains visible because it is illuminated by the sunlight deflected by the earth's atmosphere that gives it a reddish color. 

On September 7, the eclipse will be visible throughout Italy and from Sardinia the moon will already be built in the shade shortly after 19.30 (legal time). The phenomenon will be visible until about 11.30 pm when it comes out completely from the terrestrial shadow cone and will return to being completely illuminated by sunlight.

Live science. Archaeological excavations open in Calasetta

As part of the "Calasetta. Cultural paths between past and present" project, coordinated by Maria Grazia Melis, the fifth excavation campaign in Campu Sciamaìn will take place in September.

The project, started in 2020, pursues, parallel to scientific and educational objectives, purposes related to the third mission through Public Archaeology activities. 

On September 20, the excavation will be open to the public with guided visits from 10 to 12

The singing of the ancelle and other stories: the university theater laboratory from 1990 to today

10:00- New Astra cine-theater- Corso Francesco Cossiga, 5

The new Astra cine-theater opens the doors to citizenship to tell the story of a combination, the one between university and theater, born in the nineties of the last century. Students-actors will tell their experience on the scene and behind the scenes of the different workshops, also illustrating the materials (posters, videos, publications) the result of the university theater laboratory that reaches this year at the tenth edition.

The show closes the theatrical laboratory path promoted by the Dumas English literature chair, in collaboration with the stable theater company 'La Botte e il cilindro', Sassari.

The culture that frees: impressions and comparisons on the Liberarte project - the theater as a transitional "tool"

10:00 am- 'Pittalis' imprisonment house of Tempio Pausania, Loc. Nuchis 

Reflection and comparison on the Liberarte project, which, started starting from 2023, has created numerous meeting opportunities and cultural exchanges between prisoners and exponents of institutions, regarding in particular to the world of art and music.

The path enhanced the individual attitudes and, through art and representation of self and the other, led the group to become "company", awakening the actors-unhealthy by an emotional absorption due to their condition and encouraging them the desire for training and study, confirming the positive value of the teaching and theatrical practice in prison condition.

Plots of nature and history. A journey through plants and ancient stones 

17:00 - Botanical garden of the University of Sassari - via Piandanna

Guided tour of the Botanical Garden of the University of Sassari, an immersive experience between science, nature and history.

With Luisa Carta, curator of the Botanical Garden, Paola Ruggeri and Alberto Gavini, archaeologists of the Dip. Sciences of man and training, Maria Franca Usai, Dip. Sciences CC. FF. MM. NN.

Participants will be accompanied to discover plant biodiversity, exploring the origin and function of botanical gardens and their role in conservation and research. Thanks to the direct observation and the use of the microscope, it will be possible to deepen the structure of plants and understand the importance of botany in the modern world. 
The path is enriched with a fascinating dip in the past: the ancient channeling works of the Roman era, part of the aqueduct that connected Sassari to the ancient Turris Libisonis (today Porto Torres), testify to the ingenuity of the Roman hydraulic engineering and the profound link between man and territory. 
Those who wish will be able to view the results of the activities carried out at the garden during the workshops dedicated to the ground, meteorology and medicinal plants, carried out in the previous days.

10:00 -12: 30 - Ceas Stagno di Platamona, Sorso

Science open in Platamona - Naturalistic walk and workshops for everyone

The Third Mission and Territory Office coordinates an event open to citizenship, inserted in the Sassari 2025 calendar of 2025 - European Researchers' Night and organized, in collaboration with the Ceas (environmental education center and sustainability) of Platamona, as part of the project rooted in the environment: an adventure of Citizen Science, financed with the funds of the eight per thousand of the Valdese Church.

The researchers Vanessa Lozano and Maria Carmela Caria, accompanied the participants on a naturalistic walk to discover the habitats of the Pond and the Gineprise of Platamona. The notions and techniques of botanical sampling and in -depth, in particular, have been introduced the recognition of invasive alien species.

In the Ceas structures, the participants were involved in playful activities and scientific workshops to better know the characteristics of the sandy soils of the area and to observe some anatomical characters of the plants under the microscope.
