International networks Since 2011, the University of Sassari has strengthened its presence in the international arena by joining international associations and networks.UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union) is a network of Higher Education and Research Institutions, active in promoting academic cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region and in Sub-Saharan Africa, in Middle East and in Western Balkans.IAU (International Association of Universities), founded in 1950, under the auspices of UNESCO, is the leading global association of higher education institutions and organisations from around the world. IAU 4 strategic priorities: Globally-engaged and Value-based Leadership; Internationalization for Society and the Global Common Good; Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development; Digital Transformation of Higher Education.EUA (European University Association) represents more than 850 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 49 European countries. EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation. EUA strategic priorities: Digital Transformation; Research and Innovation; Ukraine task force; Doctoral Education; Open Science, Universities and the future of Europe.RETI (Excellence Network of Island Territories), founded in July 2010 by the University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli, gathers 19 island universities from all over the world came together to create a common environment for academic and scientific work from islands on the subject of island status.
