Best Practices for Access Password Management

To ensure proper management of network credentials (username + password), please adhere to the following rules for password modification:

• The user-initiated password change service is available to all individuals with an access account to the university network (Structured Personnel, External).
• For expired accounts, please contact your designated point of contact.
• Typically, the network access password should also have an expiration date.
• The user-modified password will be valid for 190 days (approximately six months).
• In the case of a new account, the initial login password - transmitted by the Network Office - will last for 5 days, providing sufficient time for the necessary and independent replacement of the password by the user.
• Before the end of the password's "validity period," the user will receive notification via email about the imminent expiration of their login credentials and the subsequent suspension of access.
