Il corso di laurea magistrale interclasse in Scienze storiche e filosofiche si pone come obiettivo il conseguimento di una formazione interdisciplinare che sappia integrare in modo efficace il sapere articolato derivante da una solida formazione storica con il rigore analitico e l'abitudine al ragionamento astratto propri delle discipline filosofiche. Attraverso uno studio ampio e approfondito dei contenuti disciplinari delle due aree di riferimento si potrà raggiungere una approfondita conoscenza delle tecniche di indagine sulle fonti originali inserite nel loro contesto di produzione e trasmissione e maturare una profonda consapevolezza del carattere storico di ogni esercizio di problematizzazione filosofica.

Philosophical Disciplines
Autonomous knowledge of topics, historical moments and philosophical problems from the ancient philosophical thought until the contemporary age.

Historical-institutional Disciplines
Advanced knowledge: of the developments in the History of Civilisations (from the ancient- to the contemporary age), of the institutions, of the sources for historical knowledge and reconstruction, of the historiographical and heuristic tools.

Knowledge of the practices of anthropological research; knowledge and understanding of issues connected to the identity as well as to the multiculturality in historical and contemporary contexts.
Knowledge of the conceptual tools of analysis and interpretation for an evolutionary reading of the landscape.

Philological Disciplines
Knowledge of Latin language, of ancient, medieval and humanistic philologies and literatures, expressed in Latin or in Vulgar Languages

Advances skills in understanding those historical dynamics that ground the phenomena, the processes and the structures of our contemporary world; mastering of the critical tools for interpreting the sources; critical knowledge of the different orientations in historiography; understanding and knowledge of the basic historico-institutional facts and capacity of critical evaluation of past and actual interpretations.

Specific learning outcomes

The objective of the inter-class master's degree course in Historical and Philosophical Sciences, is to achieve an interdisciplinary education, that is able to effectively and uniformly integrate the articulated knowledge that derives from a solid historical education with analytical rigor and the habit of abstract reasoning, specific to philosophical disciplines. Through a broad and in-depth study of the disciplinary contents of the two areas of reference, the graduate in Historical and Philosophical Sciences, must have gained a deep awareness of the historical character of each exercise in philosophical problematization and will be able to accompany this awareness with adequate knowledge of the methodological debate and epistemological on the status of historical and philosophical sciences. 
On this basis, one of the main specific objectives of the degree course is to train the figure of a cultural operator who is able to undertake the reading and interpretation of historical sources and texts with competence, adequate knowledge and critical skills of the philosophical tradition. The degree course intends to pursue this objective, providing the student with appropriate tools both for a contextualization and for a content and formal analysis of the documents in question. This is not only in terms of understanding of the specific disciplinary knowledge of the historical and philosophical area, but also of the development of aptitude for critical and dialogic thinking.
