Rotary recognition for a Uniss PhD student 5 July 2024 The second edition of the “Angelo Aru – Towards a Circular Sardinia” Award of Excellence was awarded, for category A. Research Doctorates, to Ludmila Ribeiro Roder for her Doctoral thesis at the University of Sassari in Architecture and Environment entitled : Comparing soil organic carbon stocks in contrasting Mediterranean pedosystems: How physical-chemical properties and land uses influence its behavior (tutor prof. Gian Franco Capra). She is a young Brazilian researcher (Botucatu, State of Sao Paulo), who has been in Italy for several years thanks to an agreement between UNISS and the University of Sao Paulo (UNESP). Her first experience dates back to 2015/16 when, still a student of the Forestry Engineering Course, she carried out an annual internship and then won, once graduated, a scholarship in the Doctorate Course in Architecture and Environment (DADU). During these years, he has published several works in some of the most important journals in the field of soil science. She has been a visiting young researcher in some of the most prestigious universities in the world, including the "Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU)", Uppsala, Sweden. His latest publication was accepted by Nature.
