Launch of the PNRR Active Orientation Courses 14 January 2025 Confirming its commitment to supporting students in transitioning to university, the University of Sassari stands out once again for its achievements in the active orientation courses promoted under the PNRR initiative "Active Orientation in the Transition from School to University," which began on January 10 and will follow this schedule. An Excellent StartThanks to a targeted and innovative educational offering, the University has already engaged over 2,700 students, approaching well ahead of schedule the ministerial goal of 3,600 participants to be reached by April 2026. During the last school and academic year (2023-2024), the courses recorded approximately 3,500 attendees, exceeding the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) target by 450 participants.New Features in the Third EditionThe third edition of the courses introduces significant new features. Among the new topics covered are applied pharmacology in cosmetics, communication, restorative justice, psychological well-being, sustainable agriculture, and museology. Each course includes 12 hours of disciplinary study, enriched by 3 hours dedicated to academic orientation, offering a practical and informative approach. Additionally, thanks to recent ministerial provisions, the courses have been extended to include students in the first two years of high school, further expanding the participant base.Widespread Participation in Local SchoolsThe project has been enthusiastically received by high schools not only in Sassari, such as the Margherita di Castelvì and Canopoleno Lyceums, each contributing around 300 enrolled students, but also by schools in other central and northern Sardinian cities. Specifically, the Fermi Lyceum in Alghero and the Fermi Lyceum in Nuoro involved 300 and 200 students, respectively, while the Segni Lyceum in Ozieri and the Galilei Lyceum in Macomer made significant contributions with an average of 150 students each.Comprehensive OrientationThe active orientation courses are just one of the many initiatives the University of Sassari implements to support students in choosing their academic future. The administrative staff organizes targeted meetings and dedicated activities, further enriched this year by two special event days to provide an even more comprehensive and accessible service.
