Internationalisation, UNISS and the Sassari Police Headquarters together 10 December 2024 PRESS RELEASESASSARI. The Rector of the University of Sassari Gavino Mariotti and the Police Commissioner, Filiberto Mastrapasqua, signed a collaboration agreement this morning which commits the two institutions to activating an assistance service aimed at making the administrative procedures for the issuing of and the renewal of the residence permit for students and staff coming from countries outside the European Union, who intend to carry out a period of international mobility, and for students who intend to obtain a bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree from the University of Sassari. The activity also facilitates the arrival of doctoral students and researchers who want to study, do research and training at the University of Sassari.The agreement provides for a system of direct contacts between the university and the police headquarters, the creation of a university email address with which to manage foreign students, doctoral students, researchers and professors from different structures within the university; the creation of a day dedicated to the exchange of information and joint discussion on the matter between the UNISS representatives and the Immigration Office staff, also with the aim of training the University staff who deal with the reception of incoming students; the establishment by the police station of a desk dedicated primarily to incoming students; the drafting of a specific multilingual handbook, containing information for incoming international students (such as the indication of the requirements for issuing residence permitsstay for study purposes, the necessary documentation, the methods of presentation of requests, contact details and opening hours of the competent offices of the Police Headquarters and University, etc.). The handbook will be published on the institutional websites of the Police Headquarters and the University of Sassari.The agreement, on which the staff of the Police Headquarters, the UNISS international relations office and the teaching area worked, is valid for 5 years and will be tacitly renewed, unless the contracting parties wish otherwise.
