On Tuesday 6 May, in Barcelona, ​​as part of the event organised by the Institut Llull together with the Dagoll Dagom company to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary and the success of the famous musical Mar i cel, the award ceremony for the competition open to all Catalan students at Xarxa Llull, the network of universities around the world that offers Catalan language courses, was held. Mar i cel is a musical inspired by the work of Àngel Guimerà, with music by Albert Guinovart and lyrics by Xavier Bru de Sala, which was a great success and exceeded one million spectators.

The participants in the competition were asked to write alternative scenes of the musical in Catalan. The winning text was Fuga verso la libertà, by Salvatore Circosta, a student at the University of Sassari.

The event also featured the presentation of the new version of the famous Pirate Hymn, translated into Italian by students of La Sapienza University and recorded by the Dagoll Dagom company. Other universities, including Sassari, Siena, L’Orientale and Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples, Turin, Bologna, Venice, Milan and Rome, contributed to the translation and subtitling of the complete work.
