PRESS RELEASE

SASSARI. “Every journey begins with a choice”. This will be the claim that will accompany the University Orientation Days of the University of Sassari, scheduled for Thursday 3 and Friday 4 April from 9:00 to 14:00, at the bionaturalistic hub of Piandanna. The event was presented this morning during a press conference by the Rector Gavino Mariotti and the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Pietro Pulina. Aimed at high school students from Sardinia, the event offers a unique opportunity to explore the University’s wide range of educational offerings and receive concrete support in choosing their academic future. The Rector will make an inaugural tour of the stands on April 3 at 10:30.

Teachers and students will guide the boys and girls on a journey to discover the 10 departments of the University of Sassari and their related degree courses: 62 in total between three-year and master's degrees, humanities, science and health areas, including 7 international courses. There will also be information stands on student services and dedicated meetings will be held to delve deeper into each academic path. There will also be the opportunity to visit the information spaces of the ERSU, the Academy of Fine Arts "M. Sironi", the Conservatory of Music "L. Canepa", the Municipality of Sassari and other bodies and institutions.

The very rich program of practical activities includes seminars and workshops, including: “Chemistry experiments”, “Change perspective: the world of plants seen under the microscope” and “Nursing and digital transformation”; there will also be presentations of the degree courses, with a focus on disciplines such as Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, Educational Sciences, Pharmacy, Literature, Natural Sciences and many others; thematic seminars, including “Medicine: from anatomy to robotics and AI”, “Batteries are a mine: the challenge of recycling in the energy transition” and “Cantiere Pirandello: from the first manuscripts to the digital edition”; preparatory activities for the courses with limited access and orientation sessions for choosing a university. The entire program can be found at this link.

The Orientation Days represent an unmissable opportunity to meet with those who have already undertaken the university path and obtain practical advice to make a conscious and informed choice.

The Office of Orientation and Student Services of the University of Sassari has collected 3,500 registrations from schools in the city and province of Sassari, but the two-day event is open to all interested parties who can participate individually or with their families without registration.

The University of Sassari has created a series of support activities for the event, designed directly for high school students. In particular, a dedicated Instagram channel has been created, @percorsi_uniss, and a playlist on the University's YouTube channel @unisstube, at this LINK. On this platform, content aimed at orientation will be published, including videos and reels in which university students will present their degree courses to their younger colleagues, recounting their experience in a direct and immediate way.
