English Language Courses

The Athenaeum Language Center organizes paid ONLINE ENGLISH Language courses for both internal candidates of the Athenaeum (Teaching Staff, Researchers and Research Assignees, Technical-Administrative and Library Staff, Collaborators, Uniss Fellows, Uniss Students, Postgraduates, Doctoral Students) and external candidates who have reached the age of majority.
Uniss graduates within 12 months of graduation on the date of publication of this notice benefit from the costs dedicated to internal candidates.

INFORMATION ON ONLINE COURSES

• Courses will start indicatively from late 2023/early 2024
• 60 hours for each course
• 2-hour biweekly face-to-face ONLINE classes
• Minimum number of participants per class: 10
• Native speakers and highly qualified teachers
   

REQUIREMENTS
To participate in the courses, you must have language proficiency at a level immediately below the level of the course you intend to take. CLA does not assume responsibility for participants who enroll in the course despite not possessing the required level.

It is recommended that you test your language proficiency level by completing the self-assessment test with exercise keys.

COSTS

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES
To be admitted to participate in the courses it is necessary to fill out in all its parts the ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION APPLICATION to which must be attached:

• copy of front/back identification document;
• copy of social security number or health card.

Before proceeding with pre-registration, please review the CLA Language Course Regulations.

The form should be submitted only if truly interested in attending the requested course. Any withdrawal from the course must be compulsorily communicated via email to clauniss@uniss.it no later than the closing date for pre-registration.

PAYMENT METHODS
The payment of the registration fee should be made through the dedicated channels according to the methods provided for payments to the Public Administration.
All instructions on how to proceed with the payment will be sent via email from the CLA Secretariat (clauniss@uniss.it) only after the start of the course has been confirmed.

COURSE ADMISSION
For admission to the course, the time order of arrival of registrations will be taken into consideration, until the classes are completed.

There is no refund of payment made either in case of interruption of course attendance or in case of dropping out due to insufficient language proficiency. Where possible, CLA will attempt to reinstate the student in a class of the appropriate level.

In the event that the minimum number of enrollment required for course activation is not reached, CLA will give appropriate notification by email after the enrollment deadline.

CERTIFICATE
At the end of the courses, for those who have attended at least 70 percent of the classes, a final exam is scheduled to be held that will assess the language level achieved with a grade in 30s. Please note that certificates are not international certifications.
