Mission

The CBLS is a research centre formed by an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural group of academics that explore the biological and cultural diversity of landscape and seascape, supporting their awareness, education and strategies.

The mission of CBLS is to support the link between ecological and cultural diversity, and to demonstrate ways in which biocultural landscape and seascape can contribute to the conservation of both nature and culture.

Recognition and understanding of the natural and cultural values of landscape, seascape, heritage, species and their ecosystems are fundamental in holistic landscape research.

CBLS is linked to IALE International, SIEP and the Universities of Cambridge, Toronto, Mokpo and AUB.
