Welcome Erasmus in music on October 16th in the main hall

Erasmus Welcome Day Uniss 2024

SASSARI. On Thursday 16 October, at 6.30 pm, the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari will host the traditional "Welcome Erasmus" event. The Magnificent Rector Gavino Mariotti will officially welcome the international students arriving for the first semester of mobility, together with representatives of the Departments, the University Erasmus Committee, the Mobility and International Relations Office and the ESN - Erasmus Student Network association.

The numbers

A total of 180 participants are expected in Sassari. The majority (35) will attend courses in the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, while 25 students will go to Law, 25 to History, Human Sciences and Education and 25 to Humanities and Social Sciences. About twenty will reach Alghero to follow the courses of the Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning, while another 18 will be equally distributed between Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Chemical, Physical, Mathematical and Natural Sciences.
This year too, Spain is the most represented country with 120 students, followed by Poland (20), Romania (15), Turkey (14), Germany (10), Portugal (4), Slovakia, Croatia and the Czech Republic (2) and the Netherlands (1).

The program of the ceremony

The evening will open with institutional greetings from the Rector Gavino Mariotti, the Mayor of Sassari Giuseppe Mascia and Lorenzo Devilla, Rectoral Delegate for internationalization (humanities area). This will be followed by speeches by Eraldo Sanna Passino, ERSU board member, a representative of the "L. Canepa" Conservatory, Fabrizio Fresi, president of ESN Sassari and moderator of the event, Raffaele Neri, ESN vice-president, and the President of the Associations Forum.

The musical program includes the performance of the Choir of the University of Sassari, directed by Maestro Ciro Cau, and the String Quartet of the "L. Canepa" Conservatory, composed of Alessia Pittau and Lucia Scano (violins), Riccardo Cherchi (viola) and Anita Zucca (cello). They will be executed  Hail true corpus  by Mozart,  Andante Festivo  by Jean Sibelius e  Jesus bleibet meine Freude  by Bach.

After the delivery of the welcome kits by the University Tutor Ambassadors, the evening will continue in the external cloister with a convivial moment animated by the Conservatory's jazz orchestra, with Federica Piu (vocals), Jacopo Calvia (piano), Francesco Carru (bass) and Luca Demontis (drums).

International mobility, in and out, is a flagship of the University of Sassari, which has always focused on international experiences to enrich the paths of its students. At a national level, the University of Sassari is one of the universities that offers the most opportunities to carry out study and internship experiences abroad, during the various education cycles.
