Uniss celebrates the Festival of Trees

SASSARI. The "National Day of the Festival of Trees" will be the right opportunity to present the Botanical Garden of the University of Sassari to the city. Tuesday 26 November from 10.30 to 12.00, the event will be held in Piandanna in the headquarters of the Uniss Botanical Garden, with introductory greetings from the Magnificent Rector Gavino Mariotti and the Mayor of the city of Sassari, Giuseppe Mascia. The Director of the Botanical Garden, Giuseppe Brundu, will moderate the work.

Speakers will include Ignazio Floris, Director of the Agriculture Department, Antonio Casula, General Director of the FoReSTAS Agency, Gianluca Cocco, General Director of the Forestry and Environmental Supervision Corps of the Sardinia Region, Simone Loddo, Uniss Procurement and Construction Area Manager, Ignazio Camarda, contact person scientific expert of the Botanical Garden, Luisa Carta, curator of the Botanical Garden of University.

Following this, a tree planting workshop will begin, introduced by Serenella Medici, from the Department of Chemical, Mathematical and Natural Sciences and Ludmilla Ribeiro Roder from the Department of Agriculture.

It will be possible to visit the Botanical Garden and the spaces of the MUNISS Scientific Museum.

The day, included among the SHARPER 2024 activities, takes place thanks to the collaboration of the FoReSTAS Agency, the Italian Botanical Society (Sardinian section) and the Third Mission and Territory Office of the University of Sassari.
