A prize to Professor Marco Milanese

The archaeologist and teacher from Sassari, Marco Milanese, received the “Paolo Bernardini” award for dissemination in archaeology in Cagliari.

The initiative, now in its fifth edition, is organized by the Itzokor association, made up of archaeologists and created with the aim of enhancing, disseminating, and learning about the historical, archaeological, and cultural heritage of Sardinia.

Among the winners in previous editions, also Carlo Tronchetti, known for the discovery of the Giants of Mont'e Prama in Cabras in 1974.

During the ceremony, there will also be space for dissemination. The archaeologist Maria Cherchi will accompany those present in a story on the "Archaeological investigations in the Austro-Hungarian prison camps of World War I on the Island of Asinara".

Full professor at the University of Sassari, Marco Milanese specializes in medieval archaeology and post-medieval archaeology.
