The inauguration ceremony of the 463rd Academic Year was presented

SASSARI. The Rector of the University of Sassari, Gavino Mariotti, will officially inaugurate the 463rd academic year of the university on Tuesday, March 18 at 11:30 in the Aula Magna of the historic building in Piazza Università. The guest of honor will be the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci.

The ceremony

After the entrance of the academic procession to the notes of the university anthem “Gaudeamus igitur”, institutional greetings will be given by the Mayor of Sassari, Giuseppe Mascia, and the Vice President of the Sardinia Region, Giuseppe Meloni.

The Rector will then deliver the inaugural speech. Antonio Bilotta, President of the Student Council, Paola Murru representing the Technical, Administrative and Library Staff, and Orazio Schillaci, Minister of Health, will then speak.

The traditional address by the Pontifex Maximus of the Goliardica Turritana Association, Pantaleone II Magister Artium, will follow. At the end of the Ceremony, the Magnificent Rector will proclaim the opening of the 2024-2025 academic year, the 463rd since its foundation.

The University of Sassari Choir directed by Maestro Ciro Cau will perform, as will tenor Francesco Demuro who will sing the national anthem.

The ceremony will be broadcast live via web streaming on the website www.uniss.it. Access to the Aula Magna is by invitation or accreditation by 10:00.
