“Forget-me-not.” This is the title chosen by the Alzheimer’s Association of Sassari for the conference scheduled on Wednesday, September 17, starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari.

Founded in May 2003, the volunteer association organizes high-profile events every year with the aim of reflecting on a degenerative neurological disease that is becoming increasingly widespread due to the general aging of the population. Alzheimer’s affects memory and cognitive functions, profoundly disrupting everyday life and relationships with loved ones.

The event, hosted by the University of Sassari, will explore different aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, thanks to the contributions of numerous specialists: doctors, psychologists, and even lawyers (one of the presentations will address legal issues that families affected by Alzheimer’s should be aware of).

Institutional greetings will be given by Rector Gavino Mariotti, Mayor of Sassari Giuseppe Mascia, Lalla Careddu, Councillor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Sassari, Maria Rita Gismondo, Advisor to the Minister of Health, Giacomo Spissu, President of the Fondazione di Sardegna, and Gianfranco Favini, President of the Alzheimer’s Association Sassari.

The full program can be found in the attached poster.
