Conference "Heavenly bodies, terrestrial bodies: the adventure of the body in literature"

SASSARI. On Wednesday 22 May at 9.00, in the main hall of the University of Sassari in Piazza Università, the XXI international conference of the "Escritoras y Escritura" research group will begin, organized by the Department of Humanistic and Social Sciences of the university together with the professors Alessandra Cattani, Monica Farnetti, Marta Galiñanes Gallén, Loredana Salis and Nadia La Mantia. A major event that will continue on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May in the DUMAS department, in Piazza Conte di Moriana, and which will bring together writers as well as dozens of scholars from numerous Italian, Spanish, Greek and British universities.

Patrocinato, tra gli altri, dagli atenei di Sassari, Bologna, Siviglia, Oviedo e Salamanca e dal Parco di Porto Conte, il convegno internazionale affronta Il tema della presenza del corpo (e dell'anima) nella letteratura e in altre discipline di area umanistica. Un corpo "non marginalizzato né cancellato dal discorso, riconosciuto anzi come dimensione costitutiva dell'essere e luogo di radicamento della soggettività" (Farnetti, 2024).

Sponsored, among others, by the universities of Sassari, Bologna, Seville, Oviedo and Salamanca and by the Porto Conte Park, the international conference addresses the theme of the presence of the body (and the soul) in literature and other humanistic disciplines . A body "neither marginalized nor canceled from discourse, recognized indeed as a constitutive dimension of being and a place of rooting of subjectivity" (Farnetti, 2024).

Of particular note are the following talks: Thursday 23 May, 9.30 am: Raquel Gutiérrez Sebastián (University of Cantabria), "Escribir el dolor para sobrevivir: Memorias de abajo de Leonora Carrington" . Gutiérrez Sebastián is also Vice President of the Menéndez Pelayo Society, one of the most prestigious cultural associations in Spain. Friday 24 May, 3.00 pm: María Milagros Rivera Garretas (formerly University of Barcelona), "The placer clitórico: la unión sin esfuerzo".
