From Austria two visiting professors specialists in Cardiology 26 November 2024 The Rector of the University of Sassari, Gavino Mariotti, welcomed two Austrian visiting professors of the medical area to the Rectorate on Tuesday, guests of Professor Roberto Madeddu of the Department of Biomedical Sciences: Professor David Bernhard, director of the Department of Physiopathology at the Institute of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Faculty of Medicine of the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Founder of the Clinical Research Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases; Professor Barbara Messner, head of the Research Laboratory in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Vienna, which studies primary prevention and the understanding of the cellular biological and molecular mechanisms underlying diseases. The two teachers are also part of the board of directors of the ISRCT based in Sassari (International society for research on cadmium and trace elements society); the prof. Bernhard holds the role of vice president, while Roberto Madeddu is the president.In these days we are working on Erasmus agreements to be established between the medical faculties of the three universities (Sassari, Vienna and Linz) and a General Agreement which was discussed during the meeting with the Magnificent Rector.
