Training sessions on beef cattle farming

The intervention is funded by the EAFRD Submeasure 16.1 - Second Phase (Support for the establishment and management of operational groups of the EIP on productivity and sustainability in agriculture).

On the first day, October 18, 2024, after participant registration at 9:30 AM, there will be a presentation of the BOES project (Sardi Beef Supply Chain) by Innovation Broker Dr. Francesco Piras. This will be followed by a presentation from Prof. Alberto S. Atzori (University of Sassari) titled "Beef Cattle Farming: Starting from the Cow-Calf Line," and then Dr. Marco Acciaro (AGRIS Sardegna) will present "Cow-Calf Line: Best Management Practices."

Scheduled interventions from technicians and stakeholders in the supply chain will follow, with a discussion of the topics addressed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

On the second day, November 8, 2024, the event opens at 9:30 AM with participant registration, and from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, the following technical presentations will be made:

Prof. Carlo Angelo Sgoifo Rossi (University of Milan): "Feeding Young Bulls to Improve Productive Performance and Meat Quality"
Prof. Alberto S. Atzori (University of Sassari): "Finishing: Barn vs. Outdoor Feeding"

This will be followed by scheduled interventions from technicians and stakeholders in the supply chain, and a discussion of the topics addressed will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

On the third and final day, November 22, 2024, after participant registration at 9:30 AM, Prof. Aristide Maggiolino (University of Bari Aldo Moro) will present "Beef Quality: The ABCs and Aging," followed by Dr. Gabriella Serra (AGRIS Sardegna), who will discuss environmental quality. There will then be a second presentation by Prof. Aristide Maggiolino, titled "Beef Cattle: Creating a Supply Chain."

The event will conclude with scheduled interventions from technicians and stakeholders in the supply chain, followed by a discussion of the topics addressed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
