Aesthetics and Digital Devices: Mediations and Transformations of Experience in the Digital Age

Via Zanfarino 62, Room I (Sassari)
09:00

The conference aims to explore the transformation of the concept of experience in the digital age through interaction with digital devices. The implementation of increasingly advanced technologies raises significant questions that go beyond the aesthetic domain to encompass ethical, social, and cultural dimensions.

The discussion thus places technological mediation at the center, conceived not as a mere alteration of traditional aesthetics but as a profound and complex transformation that simultaneously redefines the contours of our presence in the world and the ways in which we assign meaning to the places and spaces we inhabit. The growing interaction with digital technologies is reshaping our perception of the environment and the territory in which we are immersed, with implications for the relationship between physical and virtual dimensions.

At stake is not only the reshaping of individual aesthetic experience but also the collective one. Through dialogue with scholars from various disciplines, the event aims to shed light on the benefits and risks of the digitalization process, offering perspectives that open up innovative experiential landscapes, relational dynamics, and novel cognitive territories. This will hopefully enable the development of conceptual tools to understand the ongoing transformation.
