CUS - University Sports Center

Logo Cus Sassari

Founded in 1952, CUS Sassari is part of the network of University Sports Centers, amateur sports associations entrusted with the task of promoting the practice of sports for the benefit of all university students.
To this end, the CUSs, according to Law 394/77, manage the sports facilities owned by universities, organize tournaments and courses there, and set up representative teams that participate in federal championships or in the National University Championships organized by CUSI.

The facilities of the University of Sassari are the property of the University, extend over three hectares in the territory of the township of San Giovanni, immersed in the green and peaceful Sassari countryside, and are available for the free and guided activities of university students.

The facility is home to an arena with a parquet basketball court and weight room, four regulation fields including soccer, eight-a-side soccer and five-a-side soccer, three tennis courts, a running track, fully equipped locker rooms and large spaces made within a well-maintained park.

The facilities host ad hoc courses and tournaments dedicated to university students including the eleven-a-side soccer tournament that has been staged without interruption since the 1960s, the three-on-three basketball tournament and the green volleyball tournament.
University sports facilities are also accessed by the University's teaching and technical-administrative staff who participate in free and guided activities organized by the C.U.S.
