Course Coordinator Course Coordinator: Prof. Alberto Alberti Associate Professor of Infectious Animal Diseases at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Sassari. He teaches Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology, Microbial Infections and Molecular Diagnostics in international courses and masters (Tropical Medicine, UNA, Costa Rica). He obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in the VET/05 and BIO/19 sectors and is the author of over 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as being an editor and reviewer for numerous international journals. His research activity is focused on microbial agents that affect domestic animals and wildlife with an impact on public and veterinary health, with particular attention to infectious diseases affecting animal production in the Mediterranean and viral and bacterial zoonoses. He deals with molecular and proteomic typing, phylogeny, zoonoses, host-pathogen interactions and pathogenesis. From 2019 to 2021 he was Director of the Mediterranean Center for Disease Control.
