  Research and development in the field of biotechnology: research and development of natural, effective and eco-compatible products for the biological containment of harmful organisms in agriculture and parasites in humans and animals. It is a spin-off supported by the University of Sassari and has its operational headquarters at the Technology Park of Sardinia in the centre of Tramariglio (Alghero), managed by Porto Conte Ricerche srl, equipped with technological platforms for microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, genomics and proteomics studies. Currently, the company has just completed an investment plan co-financed by sardegna ricerche, aimed at developing an r and s platform in the field of biopesticide discovery. The company carries out project activities aimed at molecular studies on entomopathogenic organisms, screening and bioassays on potential target insects, studies on mechanisms of action down to the ultrastructural level, and studies on biopesticide-target insect interaction both in the laboratory and in artificial ecosystems.
