The final of the Start Cup Sardinia 2025 will be held on Wednesday 29 October 28 October 2025 SASSARI. Innovation returns as the protagonist with the Start Cup Sardinia 2025, the competition that for eighteen years has rewarded the best entrepreneurial ideas born on the island. The final is scheduled for Wednesday 29 October, from 3.00 pm, in the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari in Piazza Università: nine teams will compete with ideas and pitches to win the prizes up for grabs and access to the National Innovation Award (PNI). The Start Cup Sardinia is promoted by the Universities of Sassari and Cagliari, in collaboration with INNOIS – Innovation and Ideas for Sardinia and with the contribution of Sardegna Ricerche, Banco di Sardegna and Fondazione di Sardegna. The objective is clear: to stimulate the culture of entrepreneurship, enhance scientific research and encourage the birth of startups with high innovative potential throughout the regional territory. Since the first editions, the competition has stood out for a solid network of public and private partners: universities, local authorities, foundations, trade associations and companies that share the same vision of the future. An afternoon between innovation, business and the future The journalist Claudio Simbula will host the final. After the institutional greetings from the Rector of the University of Sassari, Gavino Mariotti, and the Vice-Rector for Territory and Innovation of the University of Cagliari, Fabrizio Pilo, Alessio Tola, Delegate for technology transfer of the University of Sassari, will introduce the proceedings. This will be followed by a speech by Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè, professor of Corporate Strategy at Bocconi University, with a reflection on “Startups and innovation, scenarios”. Then, off to the competition: 9 finalist teams, 4 minutes for the pitch, 3 minutes of question time with this year's "Opponents" - Barbara Argiolas (Tools srl), Mauro Maschio (Banco di Sardegna) and Riccardo De Lisa (University of Cagliari). Finally, the CEO of Kuka, Ermanno Delogu, will give a speech entitled “Technology, talent, human factor: let's create our future”. Awards and recognitions The evening will end with the award ceremony of the winners. In addition to the main prizes, special mentions will be awarded: Social Innovation, Female Entrepreneurship , Climate Change. The Sardegna Ricerche Insight Voucher will also be delivered: Sebastiano Baghino will reward the idea most in line with the incentive paths of the Startup Desk , with a contribution of 6,000 euros to continue the validation process of the project. A growth path The 2025 edition started in July with 23 nominations. After selecting the 10 best proposals, the teams underwent an intensive training and development process, up to the drafting of the Business Plan, supported by the University of Sassari. The final decision will be up to an extended jury of experts and innovation enthusiasts, who will evaluate both the quality of the pitch and the Business Plans developed with the support of the Scientific Technical Commission.
