The InfinitEGG Final Meeting Aula Manunta, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Via Vienna 2 (Sassari) 6 March 2026 09:00 The final event of the PRIN 2020 InfinitEGG - New perspectives for the exploitation of female reproductive potential in mammals: from the recovery of the untapped natural ovarian reserve to the generation of oocytes and granulosa cells from mesenchymal stem cells will be held on 6 March 2026, in the Aula Manunta of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Sassari (via Vienna 2). The InfinitEGG project was created to develop robust and reliable in vitro culture protocols to support the growth and maturation of oocytes from ovarian follicles at various stages of development. The strategy followed by the research units, which include the Universities of Sassari, Milan, Rome Tor Vergata, L'Aquila and Palermo, followed a multi-phase approach, conceived as a "relay" in which each phase prepares the ground for the next stage of follicular development. The work of the final event, which will start at 9:00, will focus on the presentation of the results obtained by the individual units and will be enriched by the contribution of European experts in the research field, such as Prof. Maria Belén Rabaglino, Utrecht University, Netherlands who will intervene with a report entitled " From omics to outcomes: using transcriptomics to optimize cattle fertility ", Professor Christiani A. Amorim, Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium who will present a speech on " Engineering the ovarian niche: environmental control of folliculogenesis in vitro " and Prof. Ramiro Alberio, University of Nottingham, United Kingdom who will conclude with a speech on "Prospect of generating animal germ cells for breeding and conservation".
