The constitutional protection of cultural and environmental heritage - The role of the judiciary

The Department of Agriculture of the University of Sassari will host a meeting-debate dedicated to the constitutional protection of cultural and environmental heritage, the role of the judiciary and the reforms subject to the referendum on Thursday 12 March 2026, at 5pm, in the Aula Pampaloni, Viale Italia 39a.

After the greetings of Professor Ignazio Floris, Director of the Department, there will be speeches by Dr Armando Mammone, Public Prosecutor at the Court of Sassari, Professor Omar Chessa, Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Sassari, Professor Marcello Madau, former professor of Cultural and Environmental Heritage at the “Mario Sironi” Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari and Doctor Maria Paola Morittu, delegate of Italia Nostra for landscape planning. Coordinated by Professor Attilio Mastino, Rector Emeritus of the University of Sassari.

The event, open to the public, is also an opportunity to collect questions, interventions, experiences and testimonies from the professional and voluntary world of institutional and associative realities involved in the protection of cultural and environmental heritage, both on the difficulties of the current times and on the expectations and concerns regarding the reform of the judiciary which is the subject of the imminent constitutional referendum.
