Final event Prin 2022 PNRR POSEIDON

THE' University of Sassari hosts the final event of the PRIN 2022 PNRR POSEIDON project ( multitemPOral SEagrass mapping and monitoring of posIDONia meadows and banquettes for blue carbon conservation ), coordinated by the Polytechnic of Turin in partnership with the Universities of Sassari and Rome 3.

The event, which will be held on 12 and 13 February 2026 at the Aula Magna B in via Vienna 2,  is dedicated to mapping and monitoring of grasslands Posidonia oceanica and banquettes , with particular attention to innovations in geomatics , to the use of satellite data, drones, GIS, artificial intelligence and underwater optical systems , and the role of these technologies in conservation of marine ecosystems and blue carbon .

The program includes:

• february 12: meeting with stakeholders and technical-scientific sessions on standard procedures and innovative methodologies for monitoring Posidonia oceanica , with a focus on prairies and banquettes;
• february 13: meeting with schools and a session dedicated to underwater geomatics in Italian projects , with presentations of national projects and a final round table.

I am provided professional training credits (CFP) for the Orders of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors , as well training credits for doctoral students , according to the methods established by the respective regulations.

The initiative is aimed at students, doctoral students, teachers, researchers, professionals and stakeholders interested in the issues of geomatics, marine ecology and sustainable management of coastal environments .
