Coping with fungicide resistance in emerging and re-emerging fungi of clinical interest

On 6 November 2025 at 12:00, in the Plant Pathology Room of the Department of Agriculture (Agrobiological Building, first floor) Dr. Zahra Jahanshiri, director of the Department of Mycology of the Pasteur Institute in Tehran (Iran), will hold a seminar in person on the topic: Coping with fungicide resistance in emerging and re-emerging fungi of clinical interest

Dr. Zahra Jahanshiri is head of the Department of Mycology at the Pasteur Institute in Tehran, Iran. His research area concerns fungal infections, in particular caused by Candida spp., resistance to fungicides and mechanisms of pathogenesis. He received a PhD in Medical Mycology from Tarbiat Modares University (2012) and completed postdoctoral research at the Pasteur Institute in Tehran (2013). Dr. Jahanshiri received her Master's Degree in Medical Mycology from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2005) and her Bachelor's Degree from the Faculty of Public Health, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2002). She joined the academic staff of the Pasteur Institute of Iran in 2014 and continues to contribute to the field of fungal infections. He is currently Visiting Professor at the University of Sassari, Department of Agriculture, where he has already carried out an 8-month research period in 2011.
