Il Corso di Laurea in Economia e management intende offrire una solida preparazione di base nelle scienze dell’economia e della gestione aziendale consentendo allo studente di acquisire strumenti fondamentali, di tipo metodologico e analitico, necessari per comprendere sia la gestione e le principali funzioni di management di un’azienda moderna, sia il funzionamento del sistema economico e delle sue istituzioni.
La laurea triennale in Economia e management consente l’acquisizione di una solida formazione interdisciplinare in ambito aziendale, economico, giuridico e quantitativo, tale da dischiudere una pluralità di prospettive occupazionali. In particolare, il/la laureato/a in Economia e Management potrà svolgere numerosi compiti di coordinamento e operativi nelle funzioni amministrative e gestionali di aziende private e pubbliche. Inoltre, potrà svolgere variegati compiti nella funzione amministrazione e finanza e controllo di gestione, occupandosi dell’intero sistema informativo contabile, sia per adempiere agli obblighi normativi con la regolare tenuta della contabilità generale per la redazione del bilancio di esercizio sia per fornire le informazioni necessarie a supportare il processo decisionale, interagendo così, continuamente, con i livelli apicali dell’azienda.

The career opportunities offered by the Degree in Economics and Management concern numerous corporate functions and contexts, in which roles with mainly operational responsibilities can be held.
In particular, the main work opportunities are the following:
area of administration, accounting and control, both in public and private companies;
management activities in the operational functions of procurement, sales, quality assurance;
freelance activities in supporting public and private companies through management and financial consultancy,
statistical-economic data processing and management activities to support companies and other economic institutions
analysis and support activities in the management of business processes and related risks

Functions and competences
- accounting: knowledge of the rules and techniques that allow regular bookkeeping and the drafting of financial statements for both civil and fiscal purposes;
- commercial officer: knowledge on all phases of the sales process and on the behavioral aspects of the customer;
- procurement function: knowledge on the planning and accounting of purchases;
- planning and control function: knowledge of the entire management accounting that relates to cost accounting, budgeting and reporting system;
- financial: skills to “read” and re-elaborate the data generated by the accounting information system and interpret the specific management realities they represent and their economic-financial solidity;
- business consultant: having acquired the fundamentals of a management inspired by the principles of effectiveness and efficiency, the graduate can support various management needs required by entrepreneurs or more generally by companies;
- consultant for local authorities, through knowledge of the main economic policies and principles of economics, he can support the organization and decision-making process of local authorities.
Function in a work context
The degree in Economics and Management allows the acquisition of a strong interdisciplinary training in the economic, legal and quantitative fields, such as to open up a plurality of employment prospects. In particular, graduates in Economics and Management will be able to carry out coordination and operational tasks in the administrative and management functions of private and public companies. He will be able to carry out various tasks in the administration and finance and management control function, dealing with the entire accounting information system, both for the preparation of the financial statements and to provide the information to support the decision-making process.
Specific learning outcomes

The Degree Course in Economics and Management intends to offer a solid basic preparation in the sciences of economics and business management, allowing the student to acquire the fundamental methodological and analytical tools necessary to understand both management and the main functions of management of a modern company, the functioning of the economic system and its institutions. The course of study integrates the classic set of basic knowledge of the business, legal, quantitative and economic areas (microeconomics, business economics, private law, mathematics and statistics) with a set of characterizing subjects and other training activities so that students acquire specific economic-business knowledge declined in various functional contexts (marketing, organization, planning and control, quality, finance, etc.). 

The knowledge acquired in the two years and in part of the last year is necessary to occupy top-level managerial positions in public and private organizations, to carry out the profession or to start entrepreneurial activities. In particular, the two-year course focuses on the core of institutional teachings (business economics, political economy, private law, mathematics and statistics) and further enriched by the study of economic history, macroeconomics, commercial law, finance, marketing and public law science, as well as the acquisition of knowledge, such as the English language and the analysis of economic data, considered indispensable and widely requested by the economic and business world. The student, during the last year of the three-year period, then has the possibility to choose between two curricula in order to complete the study path in relation to their inclinations and personal expectations matured during the two-year period. Those who intend to deepen the study of business economics and management will have the opportunity to consolidate knowledge relating to company dynamics in a variety of directions, such as organization, organization of production processes and tax law. At the same time, by appropriately combining the study of tax issues and mathematics for business decisions with other optional subjects, they will be able to enhance their profile with respect to freelance (accounting expert, consultant). Those who prefer the study of economic sciences will be able to acquire further skills on the functioning of the economy and on the main economic policies, learning the operational methods and analytical tools essential to interpret economic systems in a competitive context particularly focused on innovation and to analyse the information regarding the different markets and the behaviour of economic actors. Thanks to this training, the student will be able to work as an analyst, project manager at banks, authorities, local authorities and other national and international organizations.
