Uniss welcomes Palestinian students 13 May 2026 They landed last night (May 12) in Alghero, with the last flight from Rome, 9 Palestinian students who will attend the University of Sassari thanks to the scholarships allocated by the University, by the ERSU - Regional Body for the Right to Education and by the Sardinia Region. There are 4 girls and 5 boys who were welcomed at the Riviera del Corallo airport by the Rector, Gavino Mariotti. With him also the regional councilor Antonio Piu and the President of ERSU Daniele Maoddi. Wednesday 13 May at 11am in the main hall in Piazza Università, during a press conference, all the information relating to this transfer will be given, which can also count on the "Students Beyond Borders-Progetto Fiori dai Cannoni" initiative, as well as on local institutions. The press conference will be attended by Palestinian students, the Rector of the University of Sassari, the head of the Orientation and Student Services Office of the University of Sassari, Vanna Meloni, a representative of the ERSU and Federica Calbini of the Sardinia Region coordination for Gaza "Students Beyond Borders-Fiori dai Cannoni Project".
