The three pillars of orientation at the University of Sassari The orientation strategy of the University of Sassari is based on three pillars, designed to respond in a concrete way to the demographic decline and the growing competition between universities. The first pillar is constant collaboration with schools and the territory. In recent years the University has developed a structured system of active orientation, with laboratory courses dedicated to high school students to accompany them in their university choice.Started about eight years ago thanks to regional funding (UNISCO courses) and continued over the last three years with PNRR funds, this activity has involved over12,000 students and approximately 35 higher education institutions.Alongside this are:- an orientation desk active daily at the headquarterscentral, with specialized staff and counselors;- meetings dedicated to school groups, both in the University and in the local areas. The second pillar is represented by the Orientation Days , an annual event involving study courses, student services, ERSU, the Municipality of Sassari and local authorities. The initiative registers between 3,000 and 4,000 participants every year and stands out for an innovative format based on edutainment and gamification, transforming the moment of choice into an engaging experience. For the current edition, 30 schools from Sassari, Nuoro and Oristano have already booked, with a forecast of at least 3,000 students. In addition to the exhibition spaces, the program includes seminars, thematic activities and visits to the Botanical Garden, the MuniSS Science Museum, the Medical Simulation Center and the engineering laboratories. The third pillar is digital presence. In the last eight months the University of Sassari has recorded over 6.4 million views on Instagram and 1.5 million on Facebook, with significant growth in the community. The recent opening of the TikTok channel further reinforces this strategy. The University of Sassari is today the only university in Sardinia and among the few in Central-Southern Italy to have developed a structured presence on TikTok.There are two next objectives. On the one hand, positioning Sardinia as an ideal destination for students coming from the peninsula, enhancing quality of life, educational offerings and opportunities linked to the new territorial continuity. On the other hand, strengthening the international attractiveness of the University, in a global context marked by uncertainties and conflicts, in which stability, security and quality of the university experience become decisive factors. This is the University of Sassari's response to the demographic decline: presence, relationship and digital supervision. Dall'archivio: Giornate dell'orientamento 2025
