Where the sky touches the sea: SHARPER pre-event

The event "An eclipse on the sea - Where the sky touches the sea: a journey among the ancient and modern stars" will take place on Wednesday 12 August, from 7.00pm to 11.00pm on Belvedere Lampianu (Biancareddu, Sassari). The initiative, organized by the Turritana Astronomical Society (SAT) and the Borgata di Biancareddu cultural association, is part of the official calendar of SHARPER-European Researchers' Night , organized by the University of Sassari for 24 and 25 September.

During the event, you will be able to observe the partial solar eclipse with sunset over the sea during maximum coverage. SAT will make solar telescopes available for viewing the phenomenon both in visible light and in Halfa for viewing the atmosphere and solar prominences.
The evening, after sunset, will continue with the vision of the night sky. Images of the deep sky taken live with an electronic telescope will be projected onto a screen. A narrator will describe the night sky and the constellations with the help of a green laser.

The organizers recommend never looking at the sun with the naked eye, even when it is close to setting or partially eclipsed, to avoid serious damage to your eyesight.
