Towards Circularity: Link Between Climate Change and the Building Sector

The relationship between the climate and all the lifeforms on the Earth has always been in a delicate balance. Climate change’s impacts on the Earth have demonstrated a rapid increase with the rise of greenhouse gas emissions due to the industrialization and other anthropogenic activities since the industrial revolution and became evident in the last decade of the 21st century. The building sector is attributed to a considerably large share of greenhouse gas emissions which leads to increasing scientific and non-scientific interest in the building sector’s mitigation potential for climate change. The doctoral student explains the concept, causes and consequences of climate change, discusses the link between climate change and the building sector through the reciprocal environmental impacts over the life cycle phases, and concludes with the importance of building sector stakeholders towards circularity in the link between climate change and the building sector.

Non solo Van Gogh

I girasoli e Vincent Van Gogh nel mondo dell’arte non possono considerarsi come due entità distinte. La ragione che ha realizzato tale legame inscindibile deve ricercarsi non solo nella predilezione del pittore per l’osservazione della natura ma anche nel significato che tale fiore ha avuto nel corso del tempo. Nell’evento “Non solo Van Gogh” partendo dall’analisi dei girasoli nelle due serie, Parigi e Arles, si arriverà a mettere in luce come la rilevanza semiotica dei girasoli, possa essere accentuata diventando semantica, quando questi vengono comparati all’esercizio di altri pittori.

L’approccio metodologico applicato a Van Gogh e agli altri artisti, verrà utilizzato nella lettura degli elementi costitutivi dell’infrastruttura verde, sottolineando come nella progettazione esistano elementi e dinamiche ricorrenti ma allo stesso tempo mutevoli e polisemiche.
