Inauguration of the Architecture Students Exhibition

On May 17, 2024, at Villa Siotto in Sarroch (CA), the exhibition of works produced by students of the 2nd Year of the Urban Planning Course opens. Environmental project of the city and the territory (L-21) at the Department of Architecture, Design, and Urban Planning (DADU) of the University of Sassari. The inauguration includes the presentation of design projects developed in the courses of Environmental Planning (Prof. P. Rizzi), Environmental Hygiene (Prof. M. Dettori), Environmental Assessment (Prof. G. Onni), and Climate and Risk Management (Prof. A. Sulis). The theme of the exhibition refers to environmental planning and hydraulic risk management at the territorial scale of urban processes. Compared to the vulnerability conditions in urban and peri-urban areas in the coastal strip of Sarroch, the exhibition presents applications of theoretical, methodological, and technical-instrumental tools to represent, design, and manage settlement transformation processes with attention to mitigation and adaptation processes to hydraulic risk factors affecting the Sarroch territory, developing analyses on temporal horizons that require the analysis of ongoing climatic trends.

The exhibition is part of the Blended Intensive Programme funded program involving the universities of Lisbon (lead partner), Sassari, and Thessaloniki for the Academic Year 2023/2024. The title of the program is "Territories of continuity. Urban and non-urban contexts in Mediterranean coastal areas." Teaching and research topics will be conducted through online lectures by faculty members of the involved universities on May 13 and 17, and June 4, 2024. A series of in-person lectures will be held during the technical visit at the University of "Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes" (Portimão, Portugal) from September 16 to 20, 2024. The participation of the University of Sassari is part of the educational offer in Urban Planning at DADU.
