Durum Wheat and Agriculture 4.0 in Sardinia

Department of Agriculture - Barbieri Hall (Sassari)
09.30

The 4.0 agriculture is a management strategy in which data is collected, processed, analyzed, and combined with other information to guide business decisions.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss the potential benefits in terms of reducing resource waste, increasing yields and crop quality, improving working conditions and times, and a more efficient product traceability along the supply chain.

The focus will be on the cultivation of durum wheat, a typical product of our region, which has seen a constant reduction in cultivated areas but could find new momentum through the adoption of such technologies. During the event, in addition to discussing the agronomic characteristics of this crop, the results of a recent study on farmers' perceptions of the use of 4.0 technologies will be presented.

The event, organized in collaboration with Coldiretti Sardegna, will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Barbieri Hall of the Department of Agriculture at the University of Sassari, Viale Italia 39A, starting at 9:30 am.
