The Regional Session of the European Youth Parliament is currently taking place in Sassari these days. The European Youth Parliament, established in 1994 in Milan, engages over 30,000 young European citizens annually in more than 500 activities.

The Sassari stage involves 50 young participants and an international staff from various countries, including Finland, Greece, and Switzerland. The participating youth come from institutions such as the Convitto Nazionale Canopoleno and Liceo Azuni in Sassari, Istituto Manno in Alghero, Istituto Paglietti in Porto Torres, Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele in Cagliari, and Istituto Grassi in Turin.

The University of Sassari will host the final day on Sunday, March 12, in the University's Aula Magna, which will become the venue for the General Assembly. During the proceedings, topics such as artificial intelligence, the preservation of minority languages, and sustainable tourism will be addressed. Each committee will present its proposals and draft a document.

The European Youth Parliament's mission is to promote values of respect, dialogue, and independent thinking among young people.

The event, strongly supported by the Rector, Prof. Gavino Mariotti, who will be present on Sunday in the Aula Magna, is sponsored by the University of Sassari, the Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Sassari, the Province of Sassari, and the European Central Initiatives. It is realized with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna and in collaboration with Abinsula, Dinamo, ATP, and Europe Direct Sardegna.
