The Università di Sassari has its main buildings in the city of Sassari. Additional sites are in the towns of Alghero, Olbia, Nuoro, Oristano, with a total student population of about 19,000.

The University offers a wide and varied Prospectus, which includes on-campus and distance-learning courses in the fields of Humanities and applied Sciences. It counts 11 faculties, with 760 teaching staff from local and national universities.

The university has got 23 departments, 24 libraries, and more than 40 divisions and centres for students of the medical professions.

The university enables all its students to further their education: graduate students are encouraged to stay on and complete higher education through MA, MSc and doctoral research programs. Specialization and special training courses are also largely available.
